Yoga Concludes for Some K-2 Classes and Begins for Others!

Winters' partnership with Shri Yoga Corps continues this year for all kindergarten, first and second grade classrooms. Mrs. Neal, Mrs. Narcisse, Mrs. Sweeney, Mrs. McGonnigle, and Mrs. McCann's classes have each had 8 weeks of yoga instruction from Shri instructor Bethany. Students have been working on yoga poses and breathing to help with self regulation and calming strategies that are beneficial in the classroom. Miss Nassi, Mrs. Donth, Mr. Moore and Mrs. Davin's classes will all begin yoga after the holiday break!

Hasbro's Global Day of Joy!

Henry J. Winters was the lucky recipient of a tour of Hasbro headquarters on Thursday, December 12th! Every student and teacher got to visit and see what it's like behind the scenes at a toy company. Stops along the tour included a visit with therapy dogs at Tails to Teach, a look at how computer animation is done, how commercials are made in front of a green screen, a visit to the board room to learn about the engineering behind movable toys, and a visit to the toy lab! Upon returning, Hasbro elves has decorated each classroom, and left a special gift for each student. It was truly a wonderful day of joy!

A Happy Holiday Visit With Tinker Bell and Wendy!

Our 2nd graders who read to therapy dogs Tinker Bell and Wendy and their owner Dawn Goff, had a lovely holiday visit with the dogs this week. Each student received a coloring book and crayons from Wendy and Tinker Bell. Students presented Wendy and Tink with some gingerbread treats and two new toys. Boy did Wendy love those toys!

A Heartfelt Thank You to Essendant, RDW Group, and Pawtucket COZ

Winters was the lucky recipient of holiday donations from generous supporters. Essendant Company, who donates our back to school backpacks, donated bags full of Thanksgiving side dishes at Thanksgiving, as well as toys for Christmas. RDW Group organized a donation for every student in one lucky classroom, and the Pawtucket COZ also helped Winters by donating clothing and toys for some of our families. We can't thank them enough for their thoughtful gesture.

Winters' Chorus Performs at Pawtucket's Winter Wonderland

Mr. Hall, along with the music teachers from Varieur and Little, brought their 5th grade chorus members together for a holiday concert at Winter Wonderland in Slater Park.

Spirit Week and a Holiday Concert Wrap Up 2019!

Students and faculty enjoyed a fun spirit week before the holiday break. From Wearing Our Best Wednesday, Too Tired or Throwback Thursday, and Festive Friday, it was a great way to celebrate the upcoming holidays and get ready for vacation. Mr. Hall and the 4th and 5th grade choruses wrapped up the week with a special holiday concert and sing-a-long.

A Tradition Continues...

Mr. Deschene and Mrs. Integlia hosted their 3rd annual classroom Family Dinner on Wednesday, December 18th. It is a time for using manners, trying new foods, having civilized conversation & enjoying each other’s company. Ties and proper dress were required to attend. There were lots of smiles and tons of laughs had by all.
