Social Media Manager & Writer
Full-Time Position
We're looking a talented Social Media Manager & Writer to join our Marketing team!
In this role, you will assist with creating content and maintaining Smore's online presence.
Smore makes intuitive newsletter software used by millions of people across the globe, with a special focus on educators in the United States. We're an established startup, and as part of our marketing and growth objectives, we create top-notch content that's fun and relevant to our audience.
We are looking for a detail-oriented, expressive, and creative person to join our crew. You'll have the opportunity to work with David, our Head of Marketing, on blog content and social media posts, optimizing our online presence, content, and video to drive results.
As a Social Media Marketer and Writer we expect you to be well-versed in best practices on social media platforms, and especially on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. You should have strong communication skills, be detail-oriented, thorough, and work well as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you'll have three fields of responsibility: social media, blog posts, and video content.
Social Media
- Develop, create, and schedule content for our social media platforms
- Be attuned to and proactive about social media trends and channel-specific best practices
- Help cross-post blog & video content, as well as product updates, on our social channels
- Figure out innovative ways to optimize our social media presence and engage with our audience
Blog
- Write new blog posts for our company blog, as well as update existing blog posts
- Assist in optimizing our blog, utilizing SEO guidelines and content best practices
- Correspond with users to source guest posts
- Review footage; highlight & sequence relevant content
- Optimize descriptions, subtitles, tags, and YouTube channel settings
- Share videos across our social channels, using channel-specific best practices
Requirements
- 1-2 years experience working in content marketing
- Experience managing social media channels
- Experience with startup culture
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
Personal Qualities
- Extremely detail-oriented and organized!
- Native English speaker
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Strong work ethic
