The booming 40 mile long peninsula
The Ras Nouadhibou or know as The Cap Blanc or Cabo Blanco.
The Ras Nouadhibou is a out hooking peninsula off the coast of West Africa. It has multiple names because it was concurred by the French and the Spanish, but both the names given from each country mean "White Cape." Nouadhibou is the second largest city in Mauritania and serves as a large commercial port. Its shares its coast line with Mauritania and Western Sahara.
The largest ship grave yard in the world.
During financial hardships the authorities turned to letting ship owners dump there old ships off the the coast of Ras Nouadhibou for bribes to help the economy. Now it is home to nearly 300 rotting ships.
The lonley little Lighthouse
Built in 1910 off the port of Mauritania it serves as a guide to the many of ships who come to port there.
The Single Track
There is only one railway in Nouadhibou and it ran from the three main towns. It was first used to hall iron from the coast but it is not used for that much anymore. There is still a passenger car that runs on the track to this day.
