Tiger Congratulations!
Congratulations to our Kentucky Youth Assembly for their success at the annual KYA Conference! Caroline Kelley, Ella Moore, Mattie Cassetty, Rileigh Gossett, and Summer Taylor wrote a proposed legislative bill about additional required suicide prevention training for students. The bill passed both the House and the Senate into law and was ranked in the top 3 of legislative bills - students were able to argue it at the Kentucky State Capitol in Frankfort. The entire group received a Premier Delegation Award. Ella Moore received Outstanding Speaker and Mattie Cassetty received Outstanding Delegate! KYA is sponsored by Mrs. Tina Owens and includes Chaney Barrow, Sydni Blick, Laura Lynn Head, Lydia Owens, Ella Moore, Caroline Kelley, Summer Taylor, Mattie Cassetty, and Rileigh Gossett.
Auburn students collected over 120 lbs of Halloween candy for donation to Treats for Troops last week! Leadership students, with sponsor Mrs. Nicki Buchanon, collected and counted the candy for donation. Top collections were from Mrs. Adkins' kindergarten (3rd place); Mrs. Leibfreid's 3rd grade (2nd place); and Mrs. Kelley's 5th grade (1st place)! You can find more info about this program here.

Auburn School Remembers: 100 Years of Veterans Day
Auburn School had a wonderful Veterans Day ceremony today, complete with 30 veteran guests to honor! We are so proud of our student council and their sponsor, Mrs. Stephanie Wheeldon, for organizing such a thoughtful program. All of the students worked extremely hard, from reader's theater to the veterans video, to put this program together! A special thanks to our FRYSC director, Mrs. Hope Strode, who provided the Veterans Social for our guests and their family members after today's program, and Mr. Barry Raley, who was our guest speaker. Finally, thank you to Logan County High School for sending us back some former Auburn Tigers as part of the LCHS JROTC Color Guard: Adam Parnell, Will Clark, Sean Metcalfe, and Jacob Orndorff, led by Lt. Colonel Mike Triplett. We thank all veterans for their service!
Congratulations to the winners of our 2018 Veterans Day Poster Contest: 100 Years of Honor. We had so many amazing entries! The entire student body voted on their top three favorite posters - with these results - pictured below:

The SBDM parent election will take place at the regularly scheduled parent PTO meeting at 5:30 PM in the school library November 13. Please make plans to attend to vote, as well as give your input about the 2018 Fall Festival and upcoming events.

Did you know that underwear is greatly needed in the Family Resource centers of our local schools? Between all 6 elementary schools in Logan County, 1,000 pairs of underwear are handed out to students every month! As you can imagine, the family resource centers aren't always able to keep enough available to meet demands.
As part of the Drop Your Drawers campaign, the Library is holding a underwear and sock drive until December 23rd to collect 2,000 pairs of new, packaged underwear and socks! Boys and girls underwear sized 4-16, and socks sized 6-11, are also needed.
Donations may be dropped off at any branch and will be divided evenly between the city and county elementary schools at the beginning of the year.
