Student Face Covering Guidelines
The following information is provided to by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/diy-cloth-face-coverings.html and should be shared with staff and students:
Wear your mask correctly by making sure it:
- fits snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
- has a nose wire to prevent air from leaking out of the top
- completely covers the nose and mouth
- is secured with ties or ear loops
- includes multiple layers of fabric
- allows for breathing without restriction
- can be laundered and machine dried without damage or change to shape
Focused EduVation (FEV) Tutor
Through Focused EduVation (FEV) Tutor, students may receive free on-demand homework or tutoring assistance, schedule tutoring sessions or complete online modules. Students may easily access FEV through the Classlink Portal under FEV Tutor. Additional information about the program can be found through the FEV Tutor Informational Video.
ATHLETIC CONTEST TICKET SALES
Tickets can for all football, basketball, gymnastics, wrestling, and soccer games played within the Beach District can be purchased online.
We no longer sell a family pass.
Spectators can purchase passes that can be used for all Beach District regular season sporting events for the 2021-2022 school year. Below are the two types and prices for each.
- High School Athletic Passes (Purchase 3 or less): $60.00 each at the gate, $65.00 each online at GoFan.
- High School Athletic Passes (Purchase 4 or more): $50.00 each at the gate, $54.50 each online at GoFan.
Simply go to the GoFan website and search for Landstown High School. At this point, paper tickets will still be sold at the gate, but you can avoid the line if you purchase your ticket online.

Any fees accumulated through the student’s enrollment with Virginia Beach Schools will be on their Fee tab in Parent Portal (PatentVUE). Please contact Amber Fisher, Bookkeeper, to clear any of these obligations off your student’s record.

News from Our LHS PTSA
2020 a year of Quarantine, masks and online education! We were taught resilience, strength and adaptability.
Landstown High School Parent Teacher Student Association (LHS PTSA) is excited to welcome our Eagles back! We are looking forward to a great year supporting our kids and teachers so they can continue to attain excellence in education! You are important to our PTA. Your presence and involvement in your child’s education are critical factors to school success and student achievement. When parents are engaged in their child’s education, students benefit. We are always looking for volunteers to support our LHS PTSA, if you are interested please e-mail our President at shawaue@aol.com.
The primary way to make this the best year for your student and our school is to join the PTA! This is your chance to be a member of a great organization that funds many student and teacher events. Seniors remember to be eligible for the LHS PTSA scholarship you must be a LHS PTSA member. This year we are highly encouraging everyone to join online through our Member Hub store at https://landstownptsa.memberhub.com/store. 30 September we will have a drawing of all members, we will give out five $25 gift card to parents and students!! Staff we have special incentives for you as well!!
Virginia Sports Hall of Fame, 17th Annual Student-Athlete Achievement Awards
The Virginia Sports Hall of Fame is announcing that beginning August 2, 2021 they will be accepting nominations for their 17th annual Student-Athlete Achievement Awards scholarships. The nominating period will run through October 22.
The Hall of Fame aims to recognize juniors and seniors from Virginia’s high schools that excel academically, athletically, and in their communities. Last year, the Hall of Fame awarded $12,000 in scholarships through their Student-Athlete Achievement Awards.
Eligibility criteria is below:
- Students must attend a Virginia high school (public/private)
- Students must be a junior or senior during the academic year of 2021 – 2022 to apply
- Students who have a GPA of 3.0 of higher
- Students must letter in at least 1 VHSL/VISAA sanctioned sport
- At least 1 letter of recommendation must be submitted along with the student’s academic/athletic/civic credentials
- Student must submit a minimum 500-word personal essay on the following:
- Please explain your involvement among your school and greater communities.
- Please describe your reason for pursuing this scholarship and its importance to you.
- Please describe the role athletics has played in your overall development.
