WMMS Tiger Times
Fostering Community. Empowering Students.
October 2021
Welcome to fall! We are closing in on the end of 1st quarter and have many opportunities to share with you.
The Kirksville R-III School District participated in a Districtwide training on a program called Capturing Kids' Hearts. This program places high value on building relationships which fits well with the WMMS Mission Statement: Fostering Community. Empowering Students.
Our October focus is on implementing the social contracts that were created within each grade level. The social contract is an agreement of behavior. Students answered these four questions together in advisory:
How do you want to be treated by me (leader)?
How do you want to be treated by each other?
How do you think I (the leader) want to be treated by you?
How do you want to treat each other when there is conflict?
The responses are now the expectation for how we interact with each other throughout the school day. See the section below to read each grade level's responses.
Check out the rest of the newsletter for other October opportunities!
Sincerely,
Julie Esquivel
