News from the office

Remember Your Family Pass

Please remember to bring your Family Pass with you EVERY day you come to pick up your student. We frequently have guest teachers that will not recognize you and will send you to the office to get a temporary pass before releasing your child to you. With that being said, please be kind to our guest teachers, as the safety of your student is our top priority, and they are just doing what has been asked of them.

Medication Pick Up

Student medication(s) must be picked up by dismissal time on June 15th.

All medication(s) must be picked up by a parent/guardian.

Any medication not picked up will be discarded.

PTO News

Join us next Thursday, June 9th from 5:30-7:00pm on the playground for ice cream! We will have ice cream and plenty of toppings, served by some of your very favorite Spencer staff! This is a free event for all (we will have a limited amount of water available for 50 cents each, while it lasts, but feel free to bring your own!) We hope to see you there!

Field Day is eleven days away! We will be running this year a little differently than years past, with JK-1 doing outdoor activities in the morning only and 2-3 outdoors only in the afternoon; 4th grade will have the opportunity to stay outside all day, if they choose. We are looking for volunteers to run each game station, as well as classroom volunteers for the outdoor portion of the day. If you would like to volunteer, please see the signup genius here! I have added some new spots to the SUG for equipment for Field Day. We could use a few extra pop-up tents to provide some shady spaces for the kids (especially for snack time), and a wagon for each class to carry water bottles would be useful as well. If you are willing to provide any of those things, please sign up for a slot (and be sure to LABEL all your equipment so we can be sure to get it back to you!)

One of the perks of using Fun Services for events is free tickets for summer fun! We are entitled to FREE Mackinac Island Ferry tickets and Pictured Rocks tickets. Head over here and enter code MI2022 to print your tickets!

6/9: Ice Cream Social

6/13: 4th Grade Farewell (NOTE: This event is for students ONLY! More information to follow.)

6/14: Field Day

Lunch Information

NOTE: If your child is a COLD LUNCH, the cost of a milk is $.50. It is NOT FREE. If your child gets a HOT LUNCH, the milk is included in the free Federal grant lunch.

Note From the Counselor

Counselor Corner!

Well, we made it to the final stretch of the year! The last few weeks, when the sun is shining and energy is high! And after so many months of hurdles and challenges, it is time to celebrate all that we accomplished and overcame during this school year. The Elementary Counselors would like to take time this month to celebrate our students and highlight their amazing strengths. We plan to take time with classrooms to focus on lessons missed at some other point in the year or revisit specific topics that need a refresher. We want to end this year on a positive note and recognize how truly resilient our students are, and we hope that you take some time at home to do this as well.

Thank you for the amazing support from our staff and parents as we worked to connect with and support all of our students this year. We are already working towards our plans for next school year and look forward to expanding our avenues of support.

More Resources: We also have our BAS Elementary Counseling website for ideas and resources to be used at home!
