Hybrid Learning in Pounamu
This newsletter is to provide you with information regarding changes to teaching and learning that are being put in place to enable learners to access classroom programmes at home.
As of today (Friday) we have no children at home isolating or with covid 19. But we are preparing systems so that they are in place when needed.
We are starting to practise teaching a hybrid learning model, where we provide children at home with the same access to learning experiences as the children at school.
We will use online learning as a big part of this.
Your children will have been sent their spare writing book and scrapbook home. These are for them to use if they have to stay at home because they are unable to come to school during a covid outbreak.
The scrapbook has a seesaw code for your child as well as a google login and password.
The google login is so they can access Google Classroom. Each child has access to 2 class groups. One for maths and one for everything else.
In the morning at 9am if your child is at home, they can use the links in classroom to join in with our karakia, waiata and participate in the activities as the kids at school are involved in. You and your child can use seesaw to feedback to the classroom teacher what your child has done. We are looking forward to seeing their home learning work.
This is all new to us in Pounamu! We have had a steep learning curve this week but have provided learning experiences that the children will enjoy. We will have a teacher available online to help when there are sufficient numbers at home to warrant this.
Thank you for your patience as this is being implemented. We hope to ensure that children who are isolating at home are as connected to school as possible.
Keep safe!
Let us know if you need help.
