The College Place will be hosting a free virtual workshop, "The Common App Demo," which will include a full walk-through of the Common App platform from a student's perspective. Click the link to join the zoom meeting.
September 18 / 10:00am-12:00pm
Join College Application Program for a FREE virtual presentation by Tomika Brown from The College Place. The topic will be "Understanding FAFSA and the Financial Aid Process." Each month a new topic will be covered. There will be time at the end for questions and answers. Seniors have priority, but all high school students are welcome!

Military recruiters are now on campus during all lunches in the commons to answer questions about their branches.

The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) application window opens on OCTOBER 1. The FAFSA is used to get financial assistance at 2 and 4 year colleges and universities, as well as many trade and career schools. Regardless of family income level, every senior should complete the FAFSA.

Virginia Tech's Fall Open House & Campus Connection Day
Campus Connection Day November 7, is a single day event designed for students and families who wish to learn more about the Black student experience at Virginia Tech, as well as the opportunities and resources available for underrepresented students. Participants will have the opportunity to network with current students, as well as faculty and staff throughout the university community. Registration closes October 8.
Univ. of Virginia's Society of Women Engineers
The Society of Women Engineers at the University of Virginia will be hosting their High School Visitation on Saturday, November 20, 2021. Students spend the day taking part in lab tours, majors fair, design activities, and a professional panel. These events give students a look at the different engineering fields and can help them decide if they would like to pursue STEM in the future. Applications are being accepted now until October 15.
James Madison University's Academic Open House
Learn more about JMU's academic programs, admissions, Honors College, student programs and study abroad programs at their Academic Open House. Go on a campus tour, attend the student-life fair, tour the University Recreation Center, meet current students, and eat on campus. Two in-person Open House dates are available on September 25 and November 13. Virtual Open House is October 23.
