CogAT Testing
CogAT Testing:
All 6th grade students (face-to-face) will be given the CogAT test on Thursday, November 12th at 8:20 a.m.
Parents of 5th graders (face-to-face): If you are interested in having your child take the CogAT for possible gifted placement into 6th grade advanced language arts, accelerated math, or double accelerated math, we are administering the test on November 12th. 5th graders will only be tested if they are registered. Students already in accelerated math, double accelerated math, or advanced language arts do not need to take the CogAT to remain in the class.
Read more about the 5th grade CogAT and how to register here.
Hearing and Vision Screening for 5th Graders
Annual Hearing and Vision Screening will be conducted for all 5th graders starting the week of November 9th and will be ongoing until Thanksgiving Break. Please email the school nurse if you do NOT want your child screened.

PTO NEWS!
Welcome to the 2020-21 school year at EH Greene! Although this year may look different, we plan to continue to support the staff and students at EH Greene like we always have. Your PTO membership is a great way to show your support and help us fund a variety of valuable programs.
PTO Volunteers Needed
Are you interested in getting involved at the Greene School? It’s true that we can’t physically be in the building as volunteers for now this year, but there is still much we can do to impact our children’s educational experience.
We are particularly in need of co-chairs for some of our programs. Don’t let the word chair deter you. Think of it more as a coordinator role for the program. Most of the programs that we have traditionally done will not be able to be done the same way with the current restrictions, but there are certainly ways to think creatively to be able create a program or activity what will work. Each week we will highlight a different program that we are looking for Co-Chairs for. Get together with a friend or just volunteer yourself and a great way to get to know others.
Arts Alive - This Greene School PTO program is held every other year in the March timeframe. It is a weeklong celebration of the arts that traditionally consisted of bringing in a wide range of artists during the lunch timeframe to demonstrate their craft to the students. This year it would likely need to be re-imagined.
Click here for information on all of the Greene PTO Programs and Committees. Committee Descriptions
If any of these are roles you would be interested in getting more information about, please reach out to Co-VP Programs, Betsy Rinehart and Kathy Mercurio, at grptovpprog@sycamoreschools.org.
Below you will find the google form to fill out for any Chair roles, committees or general volunteer positions for this school year. We know that some of these activities are unlikely, but in the event that something changes we would like to have people in as many positions as possible.
A note from Dr. Debelak at Montgomery Elementary
Hello Parents of current 5th graders!
Are you missing your child's artwork from last year? Haven’t had a chance to pick up the 2019-20 Montgomery Yearbook you ordered? November 20, 2020 is your last chance to get these items. Please come to the vestibule in front of Montgomery Elementary between the hours of 9am-3pm and a staff member will get you your items. We will allow 2 people at one time in the vestibule. Masks and social distancing are mandatory!
Thanks!
Dr. Debelak
