Bear Bulletin
March 18, 2022
It is unbelievable how the days and weeks are flying by. Nine more school days until Spring Break. Just incredible! This school year has brought challenges and yet so many celebrations along with intense learning for all students.
As we visit classrooms daily, student engagement, instruction, and student learning are evident and intense. Teachers are working with students one-on-one, in small groups, and as a whole group in all subject areas. It is a combination of all of these that supports student learning and achievement. Throughout the year, teachers and staff have had a wide variety of professional development aimed to support them and strengthen their instructional practices and relationships with students.
Our teachers are committed to student success! Students succeed as the partnership between home and school grows and strengthens. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to your child's teacher as our ultimate goal is for each child to feel safe and successful at school.
Third quarter report cards were posted in Skyward and available for guardians to review with their students. Please take the time to review and celebrate strengths.
As we enter this final fourth quarter of the school year, attendance is just as important as ever. Attendance directly impacts achievement and performance. Please continue to reinforce or establish routines so that your child is ready to arrive on time to school each day ready to learn. As daylight increases, it can become more difficult to go to bed, but sleep is a huge factor in student engagement, self-regulation, and success. As always, if at all possible, please attempt to schedule appointments after the school day as well.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership with your child's teacher and the BSE staff. Your children are why we arrive each day at BSE. Thank you for sharing them with us.

Honor & Excellence TWO DAYS LEFT
Honor and Excellence are two of the terms that appear on the Hamilton Southeastern Crest. One might attribute these qualities to our students, and rightly so, but the same terms can also describe our staff. We honor representatives of our outstanding teachers at the end of each year through the Teacher of the Year program. We would also like to recognize representatives from our SUPPORT STAFF who demonstrate excellence in their work, particularly in a school year like no other!
We are looking for support staff employees who go beyond the normal expectations of their job description resulting in outstanding support of Hamilton Southeastern students and the Hamilton Southeastern Community.
Nominees must be Hamilton Southeastern employees or contracted employees working in our buildings. They could be from any support staff category, including: custodial services, transportation, food service, technology, grounds, secretarial, instructional assistants, maintenance, accounting, treasurers, school resource officers, nurses, therapists, probation officers, substitutes, etc. Qualifications to be nominated would include anything beyond the normal expectations of the person’s job. It could be a “one-time” act or a series of acts.
Nominations may be received from any person from the Hamilton Southeastern Community, including: professional staff, support staff, parents, students, community members, etc.
Feel free to nominate past recipients of the award. Past award winners are eligible to be chosen again.
If you would like to nominate someone for this award, please complete the form on or before March 20. If you have any questions, please contact Sharon Moore at smoore@hse.k12.in.us. Be sure to get your nomination in early - those received after March 20 will not be considered.
Thanks for your help in honoring the excellent work of our support staff!
