Panther Pause
22 years of Pride at Colleyville Heritage High School
10.12.18
Panthers,
Another great week is in the books at CHHS. The end of the nine weeks is bearing down on us, and it is an important time to support our students in making sure that we are getting them the resources they need to be successful. This week demonstrated a continued tradition of excellence at CHHS as we were able to recognize students who were named National Merit Commended Scholars representing the top 3% of students in the country that took the PSAT. Adding these students to our list of Semi-Finalists, CHHS now has over 30 students recognized as top performers in the entire country!
This week on the competition fields, our students were able to demonstrate their PRIDE with our band program bringing home a first place trophy from a competition, and our tennis team bringing home the first district championship of the year. The tennis team will head into the UIL playoffs beginning on Tuesday as they host the first round of the playoffs at CHHS. Our volleyball team has continued their run toward a district championship with big wins over Birdville and Azle. This brings us to tonight where our football team will host Denton Ryan at Panther Stadium North (aka Dragon Stadium) in what should be a great football game. I know our young men have been preparing hard to go out and demonstrate their PRIDE for our community to see. Finally, there is one last showing of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee tomorrow night at 7pm. Please don't miss a chance to see so many great performances by our students! As you can see, it is a GREAT time to be a Panther! Have a great weekend and GO PANTHERS!

Student Voice
Define what PRIDE means to you at CHHS.
PRIDE at CHHS, to me, is being proud of one's own ideas and opinions and not being afraid to share them. The teachers on campus are open-minded individuals who have no problem with students sharing their own ideas and opinions. This environment fosters meaningful, constructive discussions that augment the curriculum. Outside of the classroom, students have the option to participate in countless club activities, covering a wide array of interests from robotics to community service. The diverse opportunities presented to students further reinforce the ability for everyone to express their own thoughts. The ability for students at CHHS to take PRIDE in what they believe in is a key reason why I'm proud to call myself a Panther.
