Darwin's Four Postulates
Haiku Week 11
The Four Postulates
1. Variation among individuals within species.
2. Some of the variation is heritable.
3. Overproduction of young is the rule.
4.Non-random survival and reproduction: the individuals with the most favorable traits survive and reproduce more than do individuals with less favorable traits. These traits are passed on the next generation, thus resulting in evolutionary change.
