Volleyball Playoffs Games

Congratulations to both our boys and girls for a great regular season! On Tuesday we host two first round playoff games. Both our boys and girls are the home seed in the opening match. Be sure to come cheer on our Vipers back to back, a win takes us to the Semifinals on Thursday at a TBD location.

To participate in Spirit Line try-outs, students must be cleared in Register My Athlete by Friday, January 27, 2023.

Try-out Schedule:

Monday, January 30 - 3:45-5:00

Tuesday, January 31 - 3:45-5:00

Wednesday, February 1 - 3:40-5:00

The final selection will be made following Wednesday’s try-out. The Spirit Line Acknowledgement form MUST be signed and returned to Mrs. Hoffpauir by Friday, January 27, 2023.

Be sure to check your email inbox for open enrollment registration emails from DVUSD. Families have now been notified regarding open enrollment applications for 23-24 has been approved, waitlisted, or denied via email from district office. Upon notification, a registration must be completed online, no later than 10 days after notification of the decision, or the student potentially forfeits the approved Open Enrollment and may need to reapply.

Sports offer the opportunity to have fun, work together with others towards a common goal, and ultimately, learn some of the most important lessons of our lives. We can define sports during the school day as team building in class, games in P.E., and playing with others during recess. Mindful sportsmanship is making the conscious choice to include everyone, play by the rules, learn from mistakes, encourage others, take care of the equipment, talk things out when problems arise, forgive yourself, win with class, and lose with dignity.

This week, challenge yourself to tune in to the way you play sports at school. Choose mindful sportsmanship. Be mindful of the way you win and mindful of the way you lose. At the end of each game or activity you play, find the opportunity to high five a teammate and compliment them on the way they played whether they won or lost.

Community Education is also hiring before and after care workers for our Viper Den program. This is a 6 hour per day position before and after school. If you are interested in this position please contact Dina Sands 623-376-3903 or stop by our office for more information.

• Reminder our bike racks are locked during school hours only.
• We cannot sign out kids 15 minutes before dismissal (3:15 is the cutoff).
• Reminder we cannot do deliveries to classrooms or call classrooms except for glasses or chromebooks. Phone messages only delivered to students at 2:30. If there is a pick up change, please call our office before 2:30.
• For those who are interested in volunteering in classrooms and/or attending field trips, you will need to attend a one time district volunteer training (class locations and times can be found at www.dvusd.org). If you have already taken the training you must come in to the front office to update your information, this must be done every year.
