Hero Headlines HMS Staff News
October 14, 2019 & Oct. 21
General Announcements.....
- If a parent or guardian even mentions the word "referral" - you MUST notify Mr. Thompson or a SpEd teacher. We have seven days to schedule a referral conference. It doesn't matter if we just finished testing the student, or if you disagree, we MUST schedule the meeting and THEN we discuss whether or not to refer the student at the referral conference.
- Last year, the Rewards $ committee set aside $400 for each 7th grade core content teacher that doesn't have budget. Please plan on spending this by the TAF deadline (will be in February).
- Last week, I put a form in your box for the SPSEF. There is a grant cycle CURRENTLY open. These are EASY applications. Apply here!!
- Please complete THIS FORM - information will be confidential.
- Mark your calendar - June 10th & 11th are the dates for the Innovation Institute.
- Here is the link to the HMS Bake Sale form.
- Welcome Amanda Davis to our gang! She will start our In-School Intervention (ISI) on Oct. 22nd in room 101. We will be sharing details about this in the upcoming week. Amanda is a certified teacher and loves early literacty - BONUS!! She will be subbing in our building this week. Amanda also teachers classes at a local gym so you can ask her about that....or avoid eye contact (like I do) when she mentions it!! ;)
- Kudos to Steffi Teo - she represented Hellstern at the School Board meeting this past week during their Focus Session.
- The state tennis tournament is at HBHS on Monday & Tuesday - Please don't park in the lot by the courts. Thanks!
