Student (and Parent) FAQs
For Remote Learning
How do I know when each class meets?
The Student Schedules by Grade (Link) will stay the same each week. If a you aren't sure what subjects your A, B, C or D blocks are, check your schedule in the SchoolBrains Community Portal. Please note: Specialist classes are changing Monday, April 13th. Your specialist teacher will email you to tell you that you are in their classes.
Where do I go when it's time for class?
The O'Maley Remote Learning Weekly Overview (new each week) will provide a snapshot of what to expect for each class. Each House and Specialist teacher and Student Support staff will give information on topics, where to find links, etc. Most teachers will be sending students to their Google Classrooms for details.
Will classes always be on Zoom or Google Meet?
No. As a matter of fact, Zooms and Meets are not required. But they are great opportunities to see your friends and to connect as a class the way you do when you are in school. And, they are quite a lot of fun!
What will classes be like?
Most classes will be pre-recorded videos, readings, websites, or written instruction of what you will learn and what assignments to complete. Some teachers are learning new tools to record themselves explaining instructions. Some will post handouts or written information. This is all new for them too.
What if I can't get to class when it's scheduled or I miss a class because of something going on at home?
You can do the learning any time, but be sure to do it! Follow the instructions given by your teacher on the Weekly Overview and in Google Classroom or the teacher website so you complete all of the lessons and meet the expectations to earn credit. If there's something going on at home that will cause you to miss a lot of lessons, you or your parent/guardian should email the teachers or Ms. Beattie.
What if I am having trouble with my computer or logging in?
We have a guide that will help you solve some problems yourself, and for others, there is a tech support form just for O'Maley. (Link to Guide and Support Form)
What if I have a question that isn't on this list?
Email your guidance counselor, teachers, Assistant Principals Mr. Destino or Mr. Hurley, or Principal Beattie.
