June 3, 2021 Cambrian School District
CSD Chief Financial Officer Approved
The Governing Board of Trustees approved a new Chief Financial Officer for the Cambrian School District. Mr. Steve Corl will serve as CSD’s Chief Financial Officer. A certified public accountant, Mr. Corl has over 20 years of experience in K-12 business administration. Most recently, he worked in the Linden Unified School District as the Chief Business Official. We are eager to work with Mr. Corl, and benefit from his years of experience. Welcome aboard!
CSD Director of Buildings and Grounds Approved
The Governing Board of Trustees approved a new Director of Buildings and Grounds for the Cambrian School District. Mr. Henry Cervantes will serve as CSD’s Director of Buildings and Grounds. He has a rich background in the field, coming to us from Southern California. Mr. Cervantes will apply his unique and qualified experiences in facilities’ maintenance and operations to make the CSD Buildings and Grounds Department successful. Welcome aboard!
Cambrian Afterschool Care and Camp Cambrian Update
Mrs. Christina Bingham, Coordinator of Extended Care Program, presented an overview of the first year of the Extended Care Program progression and gave an update on the upcoming summer opportunities. The presentation outlined the great work that transpired by our Extended Care Employees and how they are preparing for the 2021-22 school year.
Sign-ups are well on their way for next year so Mrs. Bingham encouraged families to enroll in Camp Cambrian this summer and Extended Care next year.

Cambrian Education Foundation’s Generous Donation
Dr. Andrews and the Governing Board gratefully accepted a donation from the Cambrian Education Foundation (CEF) on behalf of Cambrian School District. The CEF exists to provide supplemental financial support to the Cambrian School District students, programs and District.
The CEF donated $28,246.94 in support of student mental health and wellness across the district. The funds will go directly to support professional development for staff with Zones of Regulation training and an additional resource for all students that allows staff to survey students to get a pulse check on how they are doing. Sincere appreciation to the CEF for their generosity!
2021-22 School Year Calendar Revision (Minimum Day Correction)
The Governing Board approved the revised 2021-22 school year calendar. Originally, the 2021-22 school year calendar was approved on April 1st. After Board approval, it was noticed that June 6 & 7, 2022, were designated as minimum days.

The attached calendar reflects the correct adjustment for Monday, June 6, and Tuesday 7, 2022, designated as full-day instruction.
Local Control and Accountability Plan PUBLIC HEARING
Mr. Linh Nguyen, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, provided a summary and reflection on the actions and tasks per the District’s Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) for the 2021-24 school years. The presented summary outlined the LCAP for the Cambrian School District, as well as the actions and services for improving student outcomes according to the eight priorities set by the state in alignment with the District's Local Control Accountability Plans (LCAP).

This was an opportunity for the Board to provide input, feedback, and ask questions before the staff brings the 2021-24 LCAP to the Governing Board Meeting for approval on June 17, 2021.

Budget: Proposed 2021-22 Budget Adoption PUBLIC HEARING
Ed Code Section 42103 requires districts to hold a public hearing prior to the final adoption of the district's proposed annual budget. Mr. Jim Crawford, Interim Chief Finance Officer, will share an overview of the 2021-22 budget and the three projections. This was an opportunity for the public to discuss the 2021-22 proposed budget.

Measure R: Facility Projects Prioritization (Phase II & III)
Rick Kramer from RGM Kramer and SFA have worked with District staff to perform a review of the Facilities Master Plan and Measure I project list to provide an updated Needs Assessment and recommended projects list for Phase II & III of the Measure R Bond Program. Mr. Rick Kramer reviewed the project list with the Board.
The Governing Board reviewed the items and discussed the possible Measure R projects on the Measure project list for phase II and III projects. After discussing their initial priorities the Board requested to revisit the topic in the new school year and begin the stakeholder input process as well. This will be brought back at a later meeting for discussion.

Architectural Proposal for Sartorette & Farnham School Marquee Design
The Governing Board approved the agreement with RGM Kramer Inc. for the marquee installation at Sartorette Elementary School and Farnham School as part of the Consent Agenda. The attached agreement with RGM Kramer Inc, is for installation of a new electronic marquee at Sartorette Elementary School. The attached agreement with RGM Kramer Inc, is for installation of a new electronic marquee at Farnham Elementary School. The cost of installation shall not exceed $10,000. The cost of installation shall not exceed $10,000 for each marquee.
Next Board Meeting
The next CSD Board meeting will be Thursday, June 17 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting is open to the public and an agenda will be sent out the week of the meeting.
