SSMS Weekly Update

April 1, 2022

Hello SSMS Tiger Nation,

We are thrilled with the announcement that Kelly Miller, current assistant principal at DSHS, will be our new principal. Each of us has worked with Ms. Miller over the years and has seen first hand her dedication to students, engaging leadership style, and positive demeanor. We have a great year ahead of us with Ms. Miller as our leader.

Another great announcement was made this week...Jason LaMirand is our Teacher of the Year! Mr. LaMirand joined our staff when we opened in 2017 and teaches 6th grade science. He co-leads our 6th grade team and is a part of our Guiding Coalition leadership team. Mr. L is an incredible teacher who brings engaging, focused lessons to his students to help them understand the natural world. Mr. L is an integral part of our campus's success and our student-centered culture. We appreciate your hard work and dedication to our students, Mr. L!

In the spirit of being proactive (habit 1), please see our final exam schedule below. Please avoid out of town trips and doctors appointments during this week.
