Hello, My name is Katrina
I would like to be Version One Ventures' Analyst
Dear Mr. Boris Wertz,
I am a dynamic individual keen to get involved in every aspect of business, so I am excited to apply for the Analyst position with Version One Ventures. I come from an entrepreneurial family where dinner table topics are often about new business ideas and strategy so it feels natural that I want to work with start-ups. Innovations in web and mobile are of particular interest to me because they are vital for business strategy today. I have over five years experience in research, business strategy, analysis, online marketing and programming which all contribute to the profile you are looking to hire. Please read on to learn about some of my relevant experience and what inspires me.
For the past two years I have worked at Vision Critical as a key member of a team that manages our proprietary insight communities. I am responsible for online advertising campaigns for these communities and analysis of key metrics to provide recommendations in order to optimize these campaigns with regards to budget and quality. Please see my resume (also attached) for a more detailed summary of my experience.
I also have a Master's degree in International Business from Aarhus University in Denmark. During this program I completed a project that evaluated the University's new branding direction. The result of my project drew a lot of public and media attention. You can read a synopsis on the popular branding blog Brand New: One Element Too Many?
On a more personal note, I maintain an active lifestyle and enjoy travelling, spending time outdoors and trying new things. My Instagram feed is an online record of everything I enjoy in my spare time.
Web and mobile products that inspire me
About a year ago I heard about a start-up in Vancouver that aimed to connect patients with doctors over the internet. Last week, I was thrilled to learn that Medeo has been officially launched. This is a step closer to creating a more efficient and accessible medical system which could eventually have worldwide implications especially in areas where doctors are in demand.
I am also inspired by how the internet has grown into a tool not just for receiving information but also for collaborating and sharing ideas. Websites like Indiegogo and Kickstarter enable anyone to make their innovations reality, not just those with access to traditional funding channels.
