More products sell in January
According to a new study, consumption of Valentines Day products such as chocolates and flowers sell more in January than they do in the entire week leading up to February 13. This is because these products can be bought at a cheaper price in January before increased demand drives prices up in February.
Flowers
Flower consumption is 45% higher in the last week of January than it is in the first week of February.
Chocolate
The price of chocolate increase an average of 67% within the first week of February.
Valentines Day Cards
According to the study, consumers have began to buy valentines day cards online in January for a cheaper price than when they appear in stores beginning February 1.
