The Blake Buzz

Week of May 9-13, 2016

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU...

THANK YOU SO MUCH to our PTA for providing the breakfast, flowers, pizza luncheon and door prizes to the staff last week! It was greatly appreciated, and several staff members told me that they loved all that they got last week!

K-PREP testing week is here! It's hard to believe that it's that time of year again. All of the hard work that you have put into preparing the students will pay off and they will shine on the test! THANK YOU for teaching, nurturing, practicing, reteaching, and believing in our students, so they can believe in themselves. It really does take a village to educate students, and we have an EXCELLENT village in our staff members. Thank you to all of our accommodators who are helping this week, and to every one of you for your flexibility and patience. Please remember to ask students to stay on Level 0 in the hallways, even by the office and cafeteria, as we have students testing in the conference room, Susan's office, FRC, and Paula's office. Remind the students to stay as quiet as possible in the cafeteria, as well.

STAFF SUPERHERO OF THE WEEK

Our Staff Superhero of the Week is:

LAUREN MORRIS! (Week of April 18-22)

Lauren was nominated by Cyndi O'Banion for doing an exceptional job on the students' art bulletin boards in the building. The board in the lobby and the ones on the second floor always look awesome! Ms. Morris comes in early and stays after school to get the boards decorated and keeps them current with kids' art work. She puts a lot of time, effort, and love into making our school look great.

ARIA BAILEY (Week of April 25-29)

Aria was nominated by Olivia Hust for helping her multiple times with her current Masters class, providing books, resources, and her own expertise to help her complete papers and projects. This has helped Olivia with her overall growth as a teacher. Thank you very much, Aria, for being so great!

Other nominees:

Venita Burnett for taking care of Mrs. Amburgey's students on short notice!

Jeanna Briggs for helping Mrs. Calloway with her "Great Mail Race" student project.

You can nominate a Super Hero of the Week by placing their name in the jar in the office. One winner is drawn each week for recognition and a prize!
