Summer Program Idea...
The Summer Science Academy at Bridgewater State University is for students entering grades 4-12 in the Fall of 2019. This is the first Summer we are offering a class for students entering grades 4-5.
Below is a description of that particular class.
I Speak for the Trees
A famous doctor once said, “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” In this weeklong class, we will examine true evidence of climate change, a problem that will affect everyone’s future on this planet. If you care about nature and want to act as Earth’s crusader, this class is for you. We will research how climate change affects soil acidity in the northeast region of the United States, and will correlate this increase to changing plant diversity in the region. Students will create an outreach pamphlet that not only explains their research, but also suggests real world changes that any citizen can make, so that our planet will have a healthier future.
Needs based scholarships are available. Additional programmatic information can be found on our website https://microsites.bridgew.edu/case/summer-science-programs
