QR codes for your room.
I have found making a QR code for documents is really easy and a time saver.I have created two QR codes in my room that automatically link to google docs that students need to fill in. You do this by creating a google form. I made a Tardy google form for my students. This document makes them fill in the information (date/time/reason/name and then they have to choose the time they want to serve their detention). All of this is saved in the list that comes to the creator of a google doc.
I also made a document for Hall passes. This keeps track of their times out and their times in. When you make your document, don’t forget to copy the url at the top of your google form (the http). Next you make a QR code. I use a free one on line called QR code generator located at https://www.qrstuff.com/.You take the QR it generates for you and place it on a google doc (I use dynamic to shorten the url).
Have the students download the “QR Scanner” (it is also free). This automatically gives them a form for why/who/when they can make up a tardy. I have used this for Open house too. Parents could sign in on their iphones instead of having lines of parents signing in. Very easy.
Business education teacher Ms. Mindy Pierce is also using QR codes linked to Google forms as a pass out of class. Students scan the code with their phone, or complete the form in Google classroom before exiting the room. The form also time stamps when the students scan to exit and return. Now there is no trying to remember where everyone went during class and how long they were gone, it's all in a spreadsheet!

Notes
*The AP Luncheon is for students who made a passing score on one or more AP exams during the 17-18 school year. We will be taking them to lunch off campus from 11-1 to celebrate their accomplishments. A list of these students will be given to Attendance Clerk Ms. Jennifer Brinson, and she will mark them ACT which is a school activity absence.
*We will be on club schedule Wednesday to allow the class of 2019 to meet with our Jostens representative. If you have seniors during that time, please send them to the cafeteria. If you have ONLY seniors during that time, please report to the cafeteria with them to help us pass out information and monitor the students.
*We will have our first required learning groups Thursday. Please report to the conference room during your planning time and be sure to sign in. If you have planning during 4th/5th period, please refer to the schedule Ms. Beth Adams will send out to verify the appropriate time to attend.
