Family Engagement Night
On Friday the 25th of January Tawanka held its annual upper grades family engagement night. The night was full of fun with families participating in the Brain Show game show and parents/guardians taking on staff members at Volleyball
Stay tuned for information on the lower grades engagement night coming in March!
Officer Colleen visits the Tawanka gym on a regular basis. On this particular occasion, she competed with Tawanka students in floor hockey. Officer Colleen loves visiting Tawanka and we love having her here.
The first grade celebrated the January winners of the 100 Book Challenge. These students have read 100 books or more and are working towards their next goal! Great job!
Then they made their very own Stone Soup Book.
As part of our STEM unit, students designed their own hand pollinators.
Mrs. Tryon’s class has accepted the Kindness Challenge for the month of February. After reading the book, Kindness is Cooler, Mrs. Ruler, the students were given the challenge to complete 15 acts of kindness by the end of the month. Each time they perform an act of kindness, they earn a heart to add to their “Heart Chart” that is hanging up in the classroom. They can earn hearts at both home and school. The class is off to a fantastic start in just the first week of February!
Registration forms are available this week to students who are interested in trying out for our school talent show, “Tawanka’s Got Talent.” If you are interested and did not pick up a form from Mr. Barber, please do so as soon as possible. Forms are also available on Mr. Barber and Mrs. Tryon’s websites to print. All registration forms are due on February 13th. Late forms will NOT be accepted.
