Patriot's Pointe
December 11 - December 15 Vol. 2 Edition 19
Happy Sunday Patriot Families!
Greetings Patriot Families,
We have made it to our last week of the first semester and our final exams will begin on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. The exam schedule is linked below for your review and we expect that all of our students will finish strong and put forth their best effort to close out this semester. We have much to celebrate and I am encouraged by the hard work I see from our students and dedicated teachers as rigorous learning experiences continue to be a top priority at Sandy Creek High School.
As a friendly reminder, we fully expect all of our students to continue to follow the guidelines for our policies on dress code and behavior during this last week of school. Parents we need your assistance in helping our students to make good decisions during our last week of the semester. Specifically, we have seen an uptick with inappropriate clothing and headgear like ski masks, pajamas, and blankets. Additionally, we have experienced vandalism in our student restrooms on the walls and doors. Please speak to your student about making positive decisions before they arrive to school tomorrow morning.
We have another busy week at The Creek! Congratulations to our Fine Arts Department for a very successful Winter Fest event and collaborative concert! Our community business partners had a chance to engage with our parents and students prior to the concert and a good time was had by all. Our Beta Club raised over $1300 for Toys for Tots, our Skills USA participated in the 14th annual Project Angel Tree to support students in need during the holidays. Our Cheerleaders had a great showing at the State Competition for Game Day Cheer and our Boys Basketball team won their home opener against Creekside. Congratulations to Amari Brown for joining the 1,000 pt. Club and to Coach Nickerson for getting his 200th win this week! Our 10th Grade Literature students visited the High Museum to engage in a celebration of Black Art and History and our IB students presented their TOK projects this week!
We are excited to support our students in their academic endeavors while providing them with a competitive advantage!

The road to college acceptance comes with a lot of uncertainties. Doorway to College can help reduce your young scholar's anxiety about preparing for college entrance exams and applying to college. Our mission is to help students like yours make a successful transition from high school to higher education.
Doorway to College, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, evolved from a 30-year history of serving college-bound high school students. Doorway to College Foundation is continuing the work of the former ZAPS Learning Company, which was also dedicated to providing quality test prep to students who can't afford hundreds of dollars — or more — to raise their scores.
Student Parking passes are available all year for $60 and should be displayed in the bottom corner of the driver's side windshield.

PTSO
Did you know that your gently worn sneakers could help The Sandy Creek High School PTSO support even more students, faculty and staff?
Well, they can and here’s how…Our team is participating in a fundraiser where there is nothing to buy or sell; All we need is your support and your gently worn, used, or new sneakers!
Here’s how you can help:
As the seasons change and you clean out/organize your closets, gather as many pairs of sneakers that you no longer want; maybe you’ve out-grown them, they’re out of style, or out of season. If you and your household have 20 pairs, great! If not, don’t worry. You can ask your neighbors, friends, co-workers, and anyone in your social networks to help out. Every pair counts! The Sandy Creek High School PTSO will be collecting sneakers from December through February. Collections bins will be located in the front office.
The sneakers that we all collect will help raise money to support our program AND will help our environment by keeping sneakers out of landfills.
Can we count on you?

The Campus Parent portal is your source for student and family records, including household and individual contact information, attendance, school-based fees, academic planning (high school), forms, and report cards. The Parent portal also provides access to the GaDOE SLDS Portal. Please set up the parent Infinite Campus account first. The same username will be shared with Schoology to set up your parent account in Schoology. Because each login reflects the person associated with the username, it is recommended that a separate account is created for each parent.
- Usernames can be comprised of letters, numbers, the underscore, and dash.
- Please refrain from creating a username that is all numbers, as that will interfere with student data here in our district.
- After completing the setup of your parent portal account, please allow 24 hours for your new account information to be sent to Schoology before attempting to log into your Schoology parent account.
