District Updates
If a student has a fever, is ill, or has COVID-like symptoms, we ask you to keep your child home until the symptoms have resolved and contact us to report the absence.
Anytime a student will miss school, please contact the school using the Student Absence Form located on our campus webpage (insert the link to your campus webpage or attendance reporting form from your registrar/attendance clerk). If you choose to keep your student home because you think they may have COVID or were in close contact with someone who is COVID positive in your home, report that to us and we will mark the absence as excused.
Our current health guidance for students that have or may have COVID are to:
- Report it to LHISD Health Services
- Isolate away from others at home for at least ten days.
At the end of the 10th day, if the student may return to school the next day if:
- Fever free AND
- The original symptoms are better AND
- There are no additional symptoms
If you have any questions about your child's attendance, please contact (Insert email for campus attendance contact). Also, if you have any questions about our COVID guidelines, please visit our LHISD COVID Website.
The LHISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to increase pay rates for Substitute Teachers, also known as Panther Partners. We would be unable to meet our target level of excellence in our classrooms without our Panther Partners.
Each day we have unfilled vacancies and could use your help. If you would like to become a Panther Partner or know someone who would be interested. Please use or share the link below.

American Heart Association - Go Red Day
Mark your calendars! DATE CHANGE - On Friday, February 11th, 2022, our district will join hundreds of other districts to GO RED on National Wear Red Day to support the mission of the American Heart Association: to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives.
This is also "Dancing Through the Decades" Day, so feel free to wear Red or for the decade of your choice.
Sympathy, Empathy, COMPASSION
There is a distinct difference between these three values. Sympathy is feeling sorrow for someone else’s misfortune. Empathy is the ability to understand how someone feels in times of difficulty because you have experienced something similar or can imagine how you would feel if that misfortune happened to you. COMPASSION includes sympathy and empathy, but it goes a step further. COMPASSION is taking action to help someone in their time of need. This could be taking food to someone who is sick, helping someone who is struggling to load their car with heavy items, or helping a lost pet find their way home. COMPASSION has many faces, but it comes down to caring enough to do something about someone else’s need. We have a wonderful opportunity for our students and families to show compassion for the animals at WILCO Animal Shelter. We are holding a pet drive February 7th – 11th. We would love to shower the shelter with pet beds, bags of food, treats, warm blankets and towels, and metal food bowls. What a wonderful way to show COMPASSION! As always, thank you for your support!
