Our Path Note Topic
With 2020/21 behind us, we all hoped the 21/22 school year might be better. In some ways, perhaps it has been. However, in other ways, it has been a tougher year for most people.
Here are some tips for surviving tough times (HelpGuide):
1. Practice Acceptance--accept what is happening. Focus on the things you can control.
2. Reach Out to Others--Prioritize relationships, don't become a recluse in tough times, try to avoid negative people, and expand your relationships (make new friends).
3. Invest in Self-Care--Get enough exercise, sleep well, eat well, and learn to relax.
4. Look for Meaning and Purpose--Give help to others and pursue interests and hobbies.
5. Stay Motivated--Deal with one problem at a time, celebrate small wins, maintain a hopeful outlook, express gratitude, and don't beat yourself up too often.
WASD has a noble purpose to make the district the place learners want to be, so we have a wonderful purpose. Take care of yourself and we can achieve great things in a challenging year.

Piece of the Puzzle
This Week's Piece of the Puzzle is Eric McIlquham. In late September, Mr. McIlquham was attending a junior varsity football game between Waynesboro and Shippensburg. The handicapped parking slots were full, so a family walked to the stadium, but the gradnfather stayed in the car to watch the game due to needing oxygen 24 hours a day.
The man decided to attempt to walk to the entrance to see the game better. The grandmoter, daughter and other family members was the grandfather getting off the gator, driven by Eric, where the family was seated. Mr. McIllquham came back at the end of the game to transport the grandfather back to his car. The grandmother was so appreciate, she wrote a commendation letter for Eric to WASD.
For this act of going above and beyond, congratulate Eric McIlquham for being this week's Piece of the Puzzle.
