Here is a link to the 2022-2023 CISD School Calendar.

From the Principal

Dear Bobcat Families,

We are almost to the end of the first semester! Teachers are wrapping up grades and getting ready to start middle of the year assessments. If you have any questions or concerns about your child's grades or education, please reach out to us at Bush.

Also, if you are dropping off your child after 8 am, please park and sign your child in at the front desk. CISD is also asking for input on next year's calendar. See the link below to vote for your favorite calendar.

Have a great weekend!

Mrs. Thompson

Bush Bucks - Student School Store

Students love shopping at the Bush Bucks store. Our store is in need of more prizes. If you are able to contribute to our store, please visit the Amazon link. Thank you for your support!

Bush Bucks- Teacher Store

Our hard-working Bush Bobcat teachers deserve a treat! They are in need of prizes for their Holiday BINGO. They are also using these prizes as incentives when the Administration notices great things being done! Let us treat our Bush Bobcat Staff because they deserve the best. Look here to see the Teacher Store List.

Lost & Found

With the cooler weather the children are now wearing sweaters and jackets. Please remember to label these articles clearly with your child’s name. Also don’t forget to label water bottles, backpacks, and any other personal items. If your child misplaces an item, please remind them to check in the lost and found located in the front lobby. Please Note - All non-claimed items will be donated over Winter Break!

Reporting Student Absences

To report an absence for your child, do one of the following:

  • Call our attendance line at 936-709-1610 and leave a message stating your child’s name, reason for the absence, person reporting the absence, and a phone number.
  • Email the registrar – srandall@conroeisd.net with your student’s absence information.

When your child returns to school, a note explaining the absence should be brought to their teacher, front office, or the attendance office.

Transportation Changes

Transportation changes must be made in writing before 2:00 PM. We cannot accept transportation changes by phone. To submit a transportation change, you may send a written note to your child's teacher or provide a note to the front office with the following information:

  • the date
  • your child's full name
  • homeroom teacher
  • bus number (if applicable)
  • your signature

If an emergency arises, you may send an email to bush@conroeisd.net. The e-mail must include all of the above information and must be received before 2:00 PM. If you submit a transportation change by email, it must go to the email address referenced above. Teachers do not check their email regularly throughout the day, so transportation changes should not be emailed directly to the teacher. Please send a new note for each day the change occurs; we cannot accept notes for multiple days or with multiple changes. District policy states that a student may only ride the bus they are registered to ride; students may not have a transportation change to ride a different bus.

Gifted & Talented Information

Referral requests are now open for Conroe Independent School District Gifted and Talented program. Although the testing will not take place until late January, referral requests are accepted at this time. Referral requests can be made by the parents and/or campus staff. It is recommended that parents of 2nd grade students wait until CogAT scores have arrived before nominating their child because CogAT scores are part of the GT assessment. If you are interested in referring your child, you may want to discuss this with your child’s teacher. Referrals will be accepted October 3- December 16, 2022. You may request a referral form from the front office or the Assistant Principal (Brooke McCoy bmccoy@conroeisd.net). You can also find the referral form and other GT information on the CISD GT homepage linked here.

Lunch Visitor Information

There will be a visitor table located in the gym/cafeteria by the bleachers. Please plan to arrive at school 5 -10 minutes before your student's lunch time. You will need to come into the front office, have your ID scanned, and receive a visitor badge. With limited seating you will only be able to have lunch with your student. Once your lunch time is complete you will walk back to the front of the building and check out in the front office. Please be sure to have your badge visible at all times. There is no need to sign-up ahead of time.

Classroom Counseling Lessons

In Kindergarten we talked about personal space. Personal space is the amount of space needed in order to feel comfortable. In First Grade we reviewed Kelso’s wheel and talked about a big problem vs. a small problem. A big problem is one that needs an adult, and a small problem is one that you can solve on your own using Kelso’s wheel.

We reviewed Kelso’s conflict management choices in our 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade lessons. Students know that Kelso’s nine choices are options to solve their small problems and they should always go to a trusted adult for big problems. After our review, students practiced using their choices to manage different scenarios.

Use this link to learn more about Kelso’s conflict management curriculum and the nine different choices students may use to solve conflict and manage small problems. If you would like to request that your student visit with their counselor, please use the QR code below to make a referral.

Safety Information

The safety of our students and staff is of the utmost importance. Over the past decade, Conroe ISD has spent millions of dollars on a layered approach to campus safety including the installation of secure entrances and vestibules along with adding security cameras throughout our schools. Our greatest safety measure, however, is vigilance. Please report any suspicious activity or suspected dangers to the appropriate authorities. Anonymous reports may be made 24/7 to Conroe ISD’s KidChat hotline at 1-888-KidChat (543-2428) or through our new Anonymous Alerts app. Login: conroeisd
