Classroom News and Reminders
Remote Learning Day (February 15, 2021)-
The learning packet that I sent home on Friday will be used to complete assignments that are on the remote learning Smore for February 15th. The Smore can be found in Google Classroom and I have also linked it below. Please reach out with any questions that you may have.
Safety Drills- We will have a lock down safety drill this week.
Thank You!- Thank you to all of the parents that sent in snacks last week. The students enjoyed have a special Valentine treat each day.
Staying Safe- We will continue to follow the three W's at school to make sure that we keep everyone safe. If your child has ANY symptom that seems out of the ordinary, please contact our school nurse before sending him/her to school. Please be sure that your child wears a clean mask to school each day.
Conferences- I have enjoyed talking with each of you about your child's progress so far this year. If we have not had a chance to sit down and talk, I will be reaching out to you soon to set up a conference time.
Reading Homework- Your child should be reading for a total of 30 minutes each night. Please log the book that your child reads in his/her assignment book.
Your child is welcome to log in to Literacy Footprints each day to find a "good fit" book to read for 30 minutes. Every student has been shown how to access this program and find books that are on his/her level.
Have questions for the school nurse?
COVID - Please be overly cautious when considering when to send your child to school. It is VERY important that we all follow the guidelines when it comes to quarantining. If you have been around someone that is sick or has tested positive, please reach out to the school nurse to get information about what you need to do. Read over the attestation form each day to make sure that your child is healthy and able to come to school. Masks should be worn to school each day and washed in between uses.
Our school nurse Kimberly Sluder is here to help you navigate this challenging year. You can find her at school at 336-838-4261 or on ClassDojo. You can also reach her by email -- Nurse Sluder at sluderk@wilkes.k12.nc.us
