Mirror Face
We need your help with ensuring that our students and staff are aware of this event. If you have not already, please connect with your SEL coordinator to ensure that your school is aware of this event and promotion has begun.
Thanks to the efforts of Ms. Johnson (Bolton Academy) and Ms. Smith (Finch Elementary), the boxes of Mirror Face books have been labeled and will be delivered to your school before February 16, 2021. The boxes of books are addressed to you (or your designee). Please ensure that all students in grades PreK, Kindergarten, and 1st grade receive a copy of this book to take home with them by Tuesday, February 16, 2021. Along with the book, please share a digital or printed copy of this flyer to remind families to tune in for a special reading of this book by the authors and special messages from Atlanta's own Mayor Bottoms and our very own Dr. Herring.
Also, begin sharing this book with your classes prior to the February 17 event. We want our students to understand and embrace the theme of self-love.
February 17 kicks off the #mirrorfacechallenge where we are asking for students and families to show their mirror faces and post to social media using the hashtag #mirrorfacechallenge.
For students who are participating in virtual learning, an eBook will be made available for their reading.
Please refer to our Media Specialist Google Drive for Media Paraprofessional Resource Folder in the Google Drive for additional information.
