From the Principal
While we wait for your return, we are wrapping up the school year, enrolling our new Goodman Roadrunners, preparing next year’s classes and instructional program, while anticipating our own summer break! We wish you safe travels and an abundance of joy, laughter, and fun this summer with your family. Life is short and tomorrow is not promised, so please spread kindness- even to those who you may not want to, be grateful for what you DO have, and make the best out of today!
This month there are a lot of small updates and reminders. Please take a few minutes to read over and call if you have any questions. From the Goodman Staff we say thank you for another great year. I too want to thank you for a great first year as the principal at Goodman.
We will be sending out emails over the summer for back-to-school details and school supply lists.

Cell Phone Policy At Goodman
This year has been difficult for our students to make the connection with the new cell phone policy. Many students still pull out their phones during passing and class time. If this continues to be an issue with students we will be making phone calls home to work with you on what steps we can take so that they are not a distraction from the learning going on. Below is the article I have sent in the past explaining our cell phone policy. Thank you,
Use of electronic devices during class time for purposes other than those pre-approved by the teacher, may result in the device being confiscated and held by administration. Students are not allowed to send texts or make calls from their personal devices during the school day without receiving permission from a staff member. Students are not allowed to take photos or videos at school without receiving permission from a staff member.
Appropriate Use / Locations
Before the 5 minute bell in the Commons (use of headphones is allowed)
During class when and where the teacher designates use for learning
Photos & videos with staff & student permission
After school
During Honor Time
Inappropriate Use / Locations
During Emergency drills
PE locker rooms and restrooms
During class without teacher permission
Hallway, office, gym, library and nurse areas
Photos & videos WITHOUT staff and student permission
Wearing headphones in hallways
Bring electronic devices at your own risk. Students are encouraged to lock their devices in lockers during the school day. If a student decides to carry an electronic device on their person, it must be stored out of sight and set to silent mode so that it does not become a distraction to learning.
If the cell phone or personal electronic device is found to be in use during the day without permission, it may be confiscated. On the first offense, the student may pick up the device from the office at the end of the day. On the second offense, the student may also be assigned a lunch detention. On the third or subsequent violations, the student may be assigned other appropriate disciplinary action.
