Quote of the week
"Don't let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do." - John Wooden
From Mr. Wingfield
Welcome to another great school year! I am very excited to see familiar and a lot of new faces on our campus. It has been great to catch up and listen to what the students did over the summer and give my daily high fives in the hall. A quiet hallway just isn't the same
Middle School can be a wonderful and also challenging time for some of our students so rest assured we are here to help get them to where they need to go and navigate their daily routine; especially the 6th graders and new students to Normangee. Last week we had a Middle School assembly and went over day to day routines and expectations. The kids were very attentive and respectful; what a great group of kiddos!
Over the next week there will continue to be changes as students adapt to their new environment and our teachers get to know them. Mrs. Martin is still trying to balance class numbers so it is still possible that a student schedule could change in order to allow for smaller classes. We will also have changes in ridership on our bus routes as students transition from car rider to bus rider, or vice versa. We thank you for your patience and understanding in advance.
We also ask that car riders get to the front (for seconday) as soon as possible so that parents that have picked up their students may exit the pickup line. Please remind your students so that we can be more efficient.
Anyone parents that I have met hopefully know that they can ask questions or for support anytime. For those that I haven't met, I hope I get to meet you soon even to just put a face with a name. I am looking forward to a great year!!
Please look at every section below in order to get updates on events and/or any other pertinent information regarding Normangee MS and NISD.
In an effort to continually keep our students and campus safe, all parents will need to physically enter the building in order to check out your child for any reason. We will pull your child out of class when you arrive and have gone through the check-out procedures. Thanks for your cooperation.
If there is any other information you would like to receive through the MS Newsletter, please feel free to email me at jwingfield@normangeeisd.org
As always, if I can help in any way please let me know.

Capturing Kids Hearts
In August we will begin implementing our CKH lessons. Every Monday we will have a character lesson and students will be able reflect and build positive relationships and dialogue with one another.
From our Bus Barn
We are still trying to determine our ridership for our buses. Once we establish our consistent riders we will be able to have a better idea of our pickup and stop times.
A reminder to students that they must get out to the bus loop as soon as the school day ends. They need to be on the bus and make sure they are modeling positive behavior. We have elementary school kids on the buses and they are looking for great role models that are practicing and following our campus and district expectations.
