Principles of the constitution

By : Tammara Traylor

Popular sovereignty

A government in which people rule , based on the idea of classical liberism meaning they participated in voting .

My own words : when the citizens are choosing who will be responsible enough to take in people's ideas and get them billed

Quote : “There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry, Mine!”

Republicanism

People vote for people to representative their views

My own words : republicanism is where you have people voting for other people to represent you ideas and thoughts

Quote :" Our safety, our liberty, depends upon preserving the Constitution of the United States as our fathers made it inviolate. The people of the United States are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution. "

Limited government

Everybody has to follow the same laws , even the members of the government

My own words : the u.s states make laws , making every u.s. Citizen follow them .

Quotes : “I hope we once again have reminded people that man is not free unless government is limited. There's a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: As government expands, liberty contracts.”

Individual rights

Personal liberties and privileges that people are born with and can not be taken away

My own words : you can follow any religion that you have originated from .

Quotes : "Whatever is my right as a man is also the right of another; and it becomes my duty to guarantee as well as to possess.”
