STAFFING UPDATES
MEET JORDAN ADAIR - 2nd Grade Teacher
It's so exciting to welcome Jordan Adair to the 2nd grade team at Cannon next year! Our school is the PERFECT fit for Jordan and even her current principal (VERY) reluctantly agreed, after he learned more about the position she will hold at Cannon! While speaking with her principal, who obviously adores Jordan, he shared that she is a "stand-out, who is wise beyond her years". He described her as a teacher that put relationships first and who "just has that special ability to bring magic to the classroom". Mr. Mac is super sad to see Jordan leaving his school, but he stated that "Jordan is one of those special teachers who is so incredibly creative and has the ability to think differently in the classroom. She will thrive in a STEM school and I am confident that I will be following her success for years to come! Cannon is lucky to land such a talented young lady!"
Below is a message from Jordan:
Hi Cubs! My name is Jordan Adair and I will be teaching 2nd grade this year. Previously, I taught 3rd grade ELA in Denton ISD. I am a graduate of UNT (Go Mean Green!) and was born & raised in East Texas. My philosophy as an educator is that learning should be meaningful, memorable, and engaging for students! I believe that all students can reach their potential if they are guided by an adult that wholeheartedly believes in them. I know that as educators we are continuously learning and growing alongside our students, and Cannon is the perfect place to do just that. The mindset and mission of your campus directly align with my own personal beliefs, which is why I am SO excited to join the Cannon team!
You can check out Jordan's professional portfolio here on Adobe Spark. Welcome to Cannon Jordan! Follow Jordan on Twitter @AdairYouToLearn and her GCISD email account is active, so please feel free to contact her by email and welcome her to Cannon at jordan.adair@gcisd.net
WELCOME KRISTI DONICA - 5th GRADE MATH/SCIENCE TEACHER
It's such an honor to welcome Kristi Donica to Cannon and the 5th grade team, as the new math/science teacher! This young lady is LOVED and admired by her previous administrators! When you are checking references and comments such as...
"Kristi is amazing - she literally helped transform our school!"
"Ms. Donica is truly one of the most unassuming leaders I have ever worked with. She makes a tremendous impact on everyone she works with and she doesn't even realize it!"
...are shared from previous principals, you KNOW you have scored an awesome new staff member!
Below is a message from Krisit for the Cannon staff:
Hi! I’m Kristi Donica. I earned my Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies at Midwestern State University and my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction at UT Arlington. This will be my seventh year teaching. I have taught 5th and 6th grade math in Wichita Falls, TX and 1st grade in Hondo, TX. I believe that we are all stronger as a team.
