Mrs. Gallant's Math & Science Class
Week of January 25 - 29
Fractions, Fractions, Fractions (and some math facts, too)!
We are deep into our fractions unit and will soon be moving onto decimals. Fractions are a very big part of the 4th grade curriculum and our students have been catching on quite well. Even though it seems we are completely surrounded by fractions, I still want students to continue to work on memorizing their multiplication and division facts if they haven't already. Each week, we complete a Math Facts quiz. I hand the results back to the students and encourage them to practice any problems they miss at home. Since we have so many other math concepts we're working on, practicing on these at home will be a huge step in helping your student become as proficient as they can be. We have a math facts online program called Xtra Math (we have worked in this in class). Students are welcome to practice on that to help.
Keep up all the dedication and support. We can't do this without you!
As always, if you have questions, please do not hesitate to email me at genesis.gallant@onslow.k12.nc.us.
