Pearson Realize Login Information (K-5 Math)
TEACHER LOGINS: For many of you, your logins haven't changed. If you were already in the system, we understand Pearson kept your same information. All new teachers were entered with their email as the user name and "francis123" as the user name. I would recommend using your old user name and password (if you used Pearson Realize in 14-15) to see if that works. If it does, great! If it doesn't, then try using your district email address as user name and "francis123" as your password. If neither of these work, please let me know and we will do a password re-set. IF YOU SWITCHED GRADE LEVELS THIS YEAR, or are new to the district, please make sure you have access to the grade level(s) you need. You can add any grade level you need by going to the profile button in the top right corner and clicking on "Settings" in the drop down menu. Click on the "My Programs" tab and add any material you need. As a caution, once added there is not currently a way to delete programs without removing you as a user.
Students in grades K-5 should all have access this year from the district data upload. Please be sure to give student/parents the information for home access. Student logins are first name + last name + last three digits of student id (Johnsmith456). Student password's should be FHSD + id number (FHSD123456). I believe this is case-sensitive.
If you want to set up your class, you can go to "Classes" tab and then the "Create classes" button. Name your class and select the material for your students. At the bottom of the screen you will have the chance to build your class. Type in the last name and find your students to add. Be sure to use the NEW naming convention (in the above paragraph) so that you have the most current login.
We did have a few issues with this upload, but I'm happy to work through any problems you have to make sure everyone has what they need. If you have any questions or issues, please let me know!

THINK CENTRAL Login Information (K-3 Science)
Teacher logins should include FHSD+first initial+last name (mine would be FHSDslorton). Your password is FHSD+first name+teacher id number + ! (mine would be FHSDsherri17389!)
If you want to set up your class, you can go to "settings", "manage classes" then "add class." Set your class name and preferences, then select "assign students." Click your students' names on the left and click "add" in the middle to bring them to the box on the right. Click "done" when all students have been added. If you are using this feature and have new students that weren't in the system when the upload was done last week, you can add them using the protocol below for student logins and passwords. If you are having trouble, let me know and I'll try to give you a hand.
I don't know how many of you have the students use their logins with this system, but if you do, student logins are first initial + last name + student id (Jsmith123456). Student password's should be just their id number.
If you have any questions or issues, please let me know!

How making math "mistakes" supports learning
Allowing students to make "mistakes" as they work through math problems is an essential part of their learning process, says David Wees, a formative assessment specialist in mathematics in New York. Wees shares why the focus should be on students' thinking as they attempt to solve math challenges, and not simply whether they reach the correct answer. KQED.org (8/4)
