Conway Catch-Up
January 24, 2022
Hi Conway #OneFamily!
Welcome back to another awesome week at Conway. Looks like it maybe a 5 day week this week finally! Cross our fingers the snow stays away!
I sent an email yesterday morning describing the mask situation. I will keep my narrative short this morning as a result :)
Let's get this week rollin'!
News for the Week:
- Parenting Videos: This job we have as parents is the most difficult job, yet most important job we have while on this Earth. As you may recall, we have a website dedicated to parent resources (see below) to help families support their children in a variety of areas. One major area that impacts every family are behaviors of our kiddos. Behaviors are a form of communication and all kiddos demonstrate good and not so good behaviors. It is part of developing as a human. To help kiddos through these behaviors, they need a few vital things in a home or in a classroom - structure, predictability, routines, and established expectations. There are many resources out there for parents. You can find a few of those on the website (below) that we created. In addition, you can find a few at this link (click HERE). Also, any family that would like to try Love and Logic with their family / child (strongly encourage this as it is a powerful tool for all families), we will gladly send you home a free copy of the book.
- Cougar Talks: To help families talk through all of the parenting difficulties we all face (starting with behaviors of our own kiddos), we are going to offer Cougar Talks once a month. Join me and other special guests to watch a video and then share ideas on how we can help each other lead our children and families. Here are more details:
Is your child having difficulties with different behaviors at home or at school ? Are you struggling to help your child through big emotions or frustrations? Raising a child is extremely complex and is one of the most difficult jobs we will ever have as adults. We would like to invite you to a new group starting this Thursday at 7:00 PM. Join us virtually to watch a short video and to have an open discussion, seek advice from other parents, and share stories to help each other grow. Together, we can raise our children to be leaders of their lives without getting too much gray hair :).
- Library Choice Board: Here is a new choice board for extension and enrichment. Enjoy.
- Virtual Coffee with JR: Join me on Thursday at 9:00 for a virtual coffee to talk through anything you want to talk through. BYOC :)
Thursday at 7:00 PM

Thanks for all of your support over the last few days and what may be a complex day today. Your support of your child and Conway is greatly appreciated. No matter what happens, we will hopefully come out of this year more united as a #OneFamily! Every single one of you and your children are worth it!
Have an awesome week. Stay warm.
