Hawks Nest
Hancock Elementary School
Let's Celebrate...
Hello Hawk Families....
Parents, thank you for your patience and grace as the teachers are working through teaching virtually and face to face. This is not an easy task but what is best for your child. It is important for your child to have consistency.
For example: If you decide to change your mind or we have to close down, your child and you will still be working with the same teacher. We will not have to switch back and forth between the teachers. We all know this is not what is good for student learning.
This is why we are so appreciative of your patience as we work out the kinks.
We know...that the Hancock teachers are amazing and determined. They work through any challenge given them to connect with you and your children.
We had a fantastic first week. Seeing the kiddos on Zoom and in-person was exactly what was needed.
This newsletter will update you and prepare you for the year. We will send this out each week. It is quite lengthy but I wanted to include everything that I would want to know as a mom. :) There are two sections for each learning model. Please review your child's learning model to help them be successful.
***A Hancock Parent Schoology Group has been created for announcements, information, etc. Please join so that you can stay connected.

Principal

Face to Face Students
- Attendance is a priority and a state and federal requirement. Students are to be in class 90% of the school year. We will help monitor this and contact you if your child is getting close to not meeting the 90% rule.
- Students will not be sipping from the water fountains. They will be filling. You may send a water bottle with your child to have and refill throughout the day.
- Students will wear masks throughout the day. We have purchased mask lanyards so that they can keep them up off the floor and around their necks.
- We will not have visitors for the first semester. We will re-evaluate at the end of the semester.
- Parents, please bookmark the Home Access Center for your student for easy access.

***Most importantly, please be patient and provide grace as this is the first time teachers are being asked to teach in this model. We WILL have kinks and we know that, but we will work to correct those as quickly as we can. Our teachers know how to teach, the technology piece is a new challenge. We are in this together and want the best for all of our students.
We love our Hawks!
