Principal's Message
Dear Parents,
Next Wednesday at 6 p.m., we will have a Title 1 parent meeting to provide a few more tips about the upcoming Milestones Assessment, our state test.. All schools will be taking the test on-line this year, which is why we have been practicing with students taking the interim district assessments on line. Today, students watched an informational video about the on-line tools they will be using and all students practiced in the lab during one academic period. You will learn more about how to support your student during this time and will have the opportunity to ask questions. Hope you can take advantage of this learning session!
I would like to give a big shout out to the Duluth Cluster Foundation, which not only provided several teacher grants for our school, but also gave each cluster school a $5,000 base donation. We appreciate the support of our community partners. Thank you!
Congratulations to our DMS Symphonic Band and Orchestra who received all superiors at LGPE. Also 3 of our students in Ms. MacLeans Spanish class received superiors in Spanish. Chorus also received a rating of 2 with a 1 in sight reading. Well done we all know how hard each of these groups have worked.
Our 8th graders will be going on a field trip to the Junior Achievement facility at Discovery High School Monday - Thursday. This is an excellent opportunity for them to learn more about personal finance.
Remember, next week is a four-day week. Spring Break begins Friday, March 29th.
Have a great weekend!

And because Mr. Shakespeare does not have enough to do, earlier that morning, Jeremiah C. (7th), Anaja B. (8th), and Janydis B. (8th) went with me to serve a hot breakfast to the homeless, and they were AWESOME! Jeremiah C. was, by far, the hardest working volunteer there. He cooked, cleaned, and was very respectful to the adults and the guests we served.
