Tuesday Notice
Updates for our CPS Community for the week of 12/19
Dear China Primary School Families,
In his 1926 classic, “Winnie the Pooh”, A. A. Milne wrote, “Piglet noticed that even though he had a very small heart, it could hold a rather large amount of gratitude.” Our little pink friend was grateful for the abundance he had in his life; great friends, a warm place to sleep and a few tasty “haycorns” to eat. As we conclude 2022, and break for the winter holiday, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to all who help make CPS an amazing place to be.
We are a community with many gifts and talents, which we share daily with one another and most importantly, our students. From the classroom, to our living room and all points in-between, our collective efforts to raise the whole child are filled with passion, commitment and a willingness to make decisions that help CPS students grow and learn every day. Parents, of course, are such a critical part of all we hope to accomplish on behalf of our China scholars. We're grateful to you for masterfully doing what we know firsthand is the hardest, most rewarding and joyous job of all.
Thank you for entrusting us with your most precious gift. We're grateful to our wonderful, talented, creative, inquisitive, optimistic, resourceful and resilient students. Often, they make us laugh, sometimes they make us cry, but always they make us think. Most of all, they make us better.
In the spirit of this holiday season, we want to extend our thanks to all of you for everything that you do for our school. As we enjoy the upcoming holidays, it is our fervent wish that each of you receives and returns the seasonal bounty of blessings and good tidings that make these days truly special.
It is also during this time that we are reminded of our own good fortune to serve as proud staff members at CPS. Indeed, our careers as public school educators have afforded us vast, varied and richly rewarding opportunities to teach and to learn from young people. Of course, we believe the faces of our children best express the true meaning of this holiday season. They radiate a sense of unbridled enthusiasm, untainted hope and unabashed joy for life and the opportunities that await them.
To the parents and friends of the China Primary School community, please have a safe and joyous holiday season.
Educationally yours,
Rob Moody, Liz Ridgeway and the CPS Staff

Updates from our PTO...
We're in the midst of a new fundraiser and we’d love for you to check it out! It will also, hopefully, help our lost and found situations at the schools! It’s called Mabel’s Labels! All these labels are waterproof- dishwasher or washing machine safe! Check it out. Go to https://mabelslabels.com/en_US/fundraising/support/ and type in China Schools PTO!
As a reminder during this busy shopping season, setting China Schools PTO as your Amazon Smile charity is a free-to-you way to give back! Last quarter, we received $177 from Amazon Smile for purchases made! If you have any questions on how to set that up, reach out to us at chinaschoolspto@gmail.com!
Our next meeting will be Thursday, January 5th 2023- hope to see you there! We are looking forward to a February food drive, spring glow dance, penny wars and more in 2023!
Happy Holidays from the PTO!
Update from our Nurse's Office...
The cold weather has arrived! Our students go outside for recess every day unless the temperature is below 10 degrees so please help your child be prepared for recess with appropriate gear for playing outside including boots (and sneakers for inside especially on PE days), jacket, ski pants, hats and mittens/gloves. We can help to provide these things if you are unable to obtain them, please just reach out and let us know. Please label your student's items, we have already found many hats, gloves, and jackets and have no way to reunite them with your child.
Flu season is upon us and we have had many students and staff out sick, thank you all for your help in keeping us all as healthy as possible. Please remember that children should stay home from school with any fever over 100.4, any vomiting or diarrhea, or any other flu symptoms that would interfere with their learning or spread illness to others. Children are clear to return to school once fever has been gone for more than 24 hours without the use of medication, 24 hours of no vomiting or diarrhea, cough is minimal and not productive.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out by phone or email.
Thank you,
Amanda Saucier RN
