Welcome to the 2021-2022 School Year

A Message from Dr. Denise Lindheim

On behalf of our school, I am pleased to welcome all families, new and returning, to Collier County Public Schools’ one and only Asynchronous Virtual Academy!

Our school motto, “Reach for the Stars,” is alive and well as the eCA Comets Soar into our second year. What an exciting time to be part of eCA, as we continue to expand our academy and now offer courses to students in Kindergarten through Twelfth Grades. We are proud to announce that the Class of 2022 will be the first graduating class, earning their high school diploma from eCollier Virtual Academy!

eCA is an officially accredited school, offering a wide range of courses for our students. Following the State of Florida public school instructional standards and benchmarks, our certified and highly qualified teachers instruct asynchronous (flexible) courses using research-based, rigorous, and engaging strategies. Our eCA teachers dive deep into students’ data to provide a personalized learning experience, inclusive of specific feedback, to lead each student to content mastery.

We want to thank our families and students for their patience and true flexibility during the first few weeks of school. As the dust finally settles, all elementary students in grades K-5 and secondary students in grades 6-12 have a full schedule populating in our CCPS student management portal, FOCUS. Elementary students should be working daily in all of their grade-level course modules located in Canvas. Additionally, secondary students in grades 6-12 who created their eCA/CVS/FLVS student account and added their FOCUS courses into their CVS/FLVS backpack now have approved courses. They are active for use in CVS/FLVS. Secondary students may now begin working on all seven of their course modules in both Canvas and CVS/FLVS.

Parents and students, please pay very close attention to your teachers’ announcements regarding the day(s) and time(s) of your “Required Live Lessons.” The Live Lessons are required for all state-tested courses and subject areas. Please make your daily calendar to match your live lesson schedule.

As a reminder, attendance is taken daily and recorded, just like in your regular home-zoned school. Secondary students, your attendance is taken seven times each day, once for each of your classes. Please follow attendance protocol, as it is essential to being academically successful in our online eLearning Model at eCA.

Have a great weekend, eCA Comets!
