Important Dates

Calling All Geniuses!
Dear Parents,
Our 5th graders will be starting Genius Hour on September 22nd. Genius Hour gives students an opportunity to independently research, discover, create, and teach.
Genius Hour is done differently in 5th grade. We want to scaffold the concept to set students up for success.
On Thursday, September 22nd, adults will present an interest or passion to small groups of students who are also interested in this talent/passion. The adult presentation should be 25-30 minutes long. You will give basic information on the topic and then the students will take it from there. After your presentation, students can ask questions, or you can help them start their search for more information. You do NOT need to be an expert; just a person who enjoys the task/topic.
We are asking for your HELP! We want our first Genius Hour to be fun and informative for our students. We want the students to have a variety of topics to pick from. We need YOU!
If you are interested in presenting to a small group of students, please let your child’s homeroom teacher know.
What: Genius Hour
When: September 22nd
Time: 8:50-9:30
Location: BRJH Cafeteria
Thanks,
The 5th grade Team
