Nurse's Notes

There has been an uptick in illnesses at school- ( Seasonal Allergies, Strep throat, Influenza, Gastro-intestinal issues, and Covid- to name a few) please be vigilant in monitoring your children for any symptoms prior to sending them to school.

If you have concerns about illness/ symptoms in the morning- please call Nurse Mudge 781-319-3985 to discuss before sending them in, as well as questions regarding absences or attendance issues- I am happy to discuss.

Covid Guidelines: Unfortunately we are still dealing with Covid cases, please be sure you are aware of the Guidelines we are currently following :

  • The day of a positive test is considered day " zero" ---we then count out 5 days - which extends up to midnight, and on the morning of day 6 is when the positive person may come out of "isolation" and return to school - pending no lingering symptoms & must be 100 % symptom free and feeling all better- and if not, then extend the absences until all symptoms are gone. Coming out of isolation too soon could potentiate transmission.
  • a mask must be worn in school until day 10 is over .
  • notify anyone who was in/ close proximity in the 48 hrs prior to testing + so they can monitor for symptoms

Spring has Sprung!!!

Please be sure your child brings a water bottle to school each day- preferably one that is easily refillable at our touchless refill stations.

Have children dress in layers- the building can become quite warm, and children can overheat very easily.

Sunscreen must be applied at home- before coming to school.

There has been an increase in the prevalence of ticks. Students have been advised to frequently check themselves especially around the ankles, legs and head region after coming inside from any outdoor activities.

The Language of Behaviors: Understanding Challenging Behaviors

Attention all parents, caregivers, and staff, please join the Marshfield Public Schools for an important presentation:

The Language of Behaviors: Understanding Challenging Behaviors

When: Monday, May 23, 2022, at 6:30 PM

Where: Via Zoom – Click here to register to receive the zoom link

Presenter: Elizabeth Cotter, M.S., L.P.C., Effective School Solutions

How do we evaluate what a child’s behavior is trying to communicate? Behavior is a form of communication which is especially important when a child has limited means of expressing themselves or has neither the developmental level or psychological capacities to “tell us” how they are doing and how we are doing with them. This workshop develops the ability to appreciate and understand the behavioral relevance and messaging of children.
