Chimborazo IB PYP December Newsletter
Welcome! It is a pleasure to be sharing the first Chimborazo International Baccalaureate (IB) newsletter of the school year with you! News to share: First, Chimborazo presently has approximately 10 faculty members trained in the International Baccalaureate program. Second, a Chimborazo IB committee has been formed. Third, IB posters can now be found in some of the hallways and classrooms. Fourth, one tenet of the IB program is the learner profile, which has 10 attributes: Caring, Communicators, Inquirer, Knowledgeable, Open-minded, Principled, Reflective, Risk-Taker, Thinker, Well-Balanced. The committee decided that in the month of December, the two attributes to focus on will be Caring and Reflective. Fifth, an IB twitter account has been opened and pictures of students being caring and reflective are welcome (Chimborazo IB PYP).
Parents and faculty,
The goal for the attribute caring is to encourage the students at Chimborazo to make a positive difference in the lives of others. At home and school, you can help the students develop the characteristic of caring by encouraging the students to be compassionate to others.
The goal for the attribute reflective is to encourage the students at Chimborazo to reflect on their learning and to consider what they do well and areas where they can grow stronger.
