Sara and Paula share their genre passport that they found on Pintrest. Students get to stamp their passport when they have read a book from a particular genre. It has been very popular in promoting recreational reading in the school.
Gloria and Megan shared "The Book With No Pictures" by B.J. Novak. The book has a lot of silly words that kids will enjoy hearing read, showing that not all books need pictures.
Shauna explains a "Guess the Book" activity where lines from a book have been cut into strips which students draw out of the pail, then trying to guess the book title.
Jennifer and Shauna share their "Golden Ticket" promotion. These tickets are hidden in books and if found by the students they receive a reward, usually a good condition weeded book or other non-collection book.
