Feyi Obamehinti
Dr. Feyi Obamehinti is a veteran educator and a dynamic international and national trainer. Feyi is passionate about helping educators at all stages of their career. Feyi’s is also an author, her book, The Cooperative Teacher Handbook, orients student teachers in their internship experience. Additionally, she is co-author of The Student Refugee Framework, a manual designed for Texas educators to effectively support their refugee students and families.
Dr. Faith Nibbs
Faith Nibbs has over a decade of experience in researching and publishing on refugee resettlement and social cohesion. Besides teaching at SMU, UTA, and TCU. She has sat on the board of refugee resettlement organizations and spoken in the US, Europe, and China on issues of integration to broad audiences of academic and non-academics interested in refugee social and economic inclusion. Along with her book,Belonging: The Social Dynamics of Fitting In as Experienced by Hmong Refugees in Germany and Texas, she has published on topics focused on US and European immigrant issues.
Dr. Monica Lara and John Seidlitz
Dr. Mónica Lara's enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning in English and Spanish is the trademark of her educational career. Her roles in education include experience as a teacher, reading specialist, assistant principal, and educational specialist in the areas of dyslexia and bilingual/ESL education.
John Seidlitz is an independent educational consultant and the author of Sheltered Instruction Plus: A Guide for Texas Teachers of English Learners; Navigating the ELPS: Using the New Standards to Improve Instruction for English Learners; and a contributing author for The SIOP® Model for Teaching History-Social Studies for English Learners.He is the co-author of numerous publications including the 7 Steps to Developing a Language-Rich Interactive Classroom
