Here's What We've Been Doing
Battle of the Books Team
- We currently have 8 7th and 8th grade students signed up.
- One 4 student team will compete at the regional competition March 7 at GMS.
- Students will need to read at least 10 books before competition.
Book Displays
- New Books
- September 11th
- National American Indian Heritage Month
- International Girl's Day
Changes in the Library
- Removed PCs and students now use library designated Chromebooks.
- We are shifting and spacing out Fiction collection to help students find books.
- The Free Books and Professional Collection have been moved to the front of the library.

- Search our catalog, read eBooks, or see what magazines we have.
- Search our databases for reliable and current information.
Lego Competition
- 20 Students signed up to compete.
- Two 7th grade winners and one 8th grade winner.
- 15 minutes to build a "monster."
Homework Boards
Homework assignments are posted daily.

In addition to resources for students to complete assignments, the library offers:

Supporting the Classroom
- You can always request materials for our collection through email but now you can also request materials on our website.
- BOCES also offers the Instructional Resource Center (IRC) that allows faculty at participating schools to borrow materials. Sign up on the website or see me for more info.
- If you're looking for something we don't have, I set up an account for our library at the Johnstown Public Library and we can borrow materials from other libraries in the area. Let me know what you need and I'll try to find it!

Coming Up Next Quarter
- The Penny Wars (Nov. 14-18) - Proceeds will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and the Battle of Books final competition.
- Day of Board Games (Nov 18) - Bring your lunch to the library to play board games with friends.
