Principal's Message to Hornet Families for the week of June 6th, 2021

Happy Sunday fantastic family members,

This has truly been a remarkable year and I would forever regret not taking an opportunity to wish you all a great summer and say thank you for all you have done to make my first semester as Principal of this great school a success. I am truly honored and grateful to serve the Kealing Community. I look forward to the Fall semester and hope everyone is able to recharge your batteries this summer to come back in the fall ready to rock, because I sure will. Please read the announcements section below, there is a lot of communication for families and friends from AISD and Kealing itself. Have a great summer!

Students who are of need can pick up books from the front office any day from 8am-3pm or June 4th during the Distribution Day.

Kealing Volleyball and Football Interest Form

Hey Hornets, as we wrap up this school year we are looking to the start of next year. We need to start getting an idea of who is interested in playing Volleyball or Football for Kealing next year as 7th and 8th graders. Please complete the Google Form so we will be able to contact you with information about these sports. Practice starts the first week of school for both sports, so it is important that we get this info out over the summer. If you have questions, please complete the form and a coach will contact you to answer those questions.

AISD Technology Curbside

Austin ISD Technology will be hosting 3 curbside locations for the 2021 summer!

Students and staff will be able to return or exchange AISD student/staff devices and peripherals such as Chromebooks, iPads, laptops, hotspots, or chargers!

Each location will run Monday-Thursday, beginning June 7th and ending July 29th! Curbside will be closed the week of July 5th.

Spirit wear having a Blow Out Sale!

Spiritwear Committee would like to announce a Blow Out Sale for all Dry Fit T-shirts and Hoodies! Also, they are offering decreased prices on Retro style shirts. Be sure to place your order before June 3 so your order can be fulfilled and delivered in person on June 3rd at lunch in the cafeteria or via End of Year Distribution June 4th. Recruiting Rising 7-9th Grade Girls for The GEMS e-Camp 2021

The GEMS Camp (Girls interested in Engineering, Science, and Mathematics) is recruiting 7th-9th grade girls for our summer e-Camp! Our mission is to change the face of those who can access and excel in STEM studies and careers. We focus on whole-girl development via our 5 Karat Gems - Academics, Career, Creativity, Leadership, and Service.

This is a $1,200 investment of resources that we offer for $200 for students who qualify for free/reduced lunch and $875 for those who do not. However, we have scholarships for any family who needs financial assistance.

KMS Summer Band Camp

The KMS Band Program is running a Summer Band Camp for all returning/incoming Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble students. The camp will be held August 2-5. See the flyer for more details.
