Phalen Flyer
PLA@George H. Fisher School 93
Greetings PLA Families,
We celebrated some exciting news this week at PLA@93. Our teachers have recently been analyzing data from our recent NWEA assessments and our scholars continue to SOAR! Many of our scholars made tremendous gains on their middle of the year assessments. This is a result of hard work from our teachers, scholars, and our PLA families. Thank you for your continued support!
Please do your part to make the morning drop off line a safe place for our staff and scholars. Avoid jumping in front of other drivers, merging into oncoming traffic, or turning in the middle of the street. All of these actions can disrupt the flow of traffic and put others at risk for accidents. Additionally, the parking lot should not be used for drop off unless you are walking your scholar into school. This area is used for buses and should be free of pedestrians.
There are still some devices, and chargers, that need to be returned to school. If your scholar has not yet turned theirs in, please send it to school with them.
I have kept the parent resources for the upcoming IREAD assessment in our newsletter. This assessment will take place from March 7th-18th. Please take a moment to review this information.
We are continuing our Family Resource Spotlight this week with resources and opportunities in the local community for you and your family's participation. Check out this week's resource for Black History Month.
On Friday, Feb. 25, scholars and teachers have the opportunity to dress up to celebrate Black History Month. Scholars may choose to dress up as their favorite historical or living figure or wear a shirt that represents Black pride. Please reach out to Mrs. White (our new Assistant Principal) at swhite@phalenacademies.org or your child’s teacher with questions.
We welcomed a new staff member to our team this week. Daniel Brooks will be teaching KDG-2nd scholars with exceptional needs. He joins our team with a wealth of knowledge and passion for working with scholars. Welcome aboard Mr. Brooks!
Check out the rest of the flyer below for more important information.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Mr. Hendricks
