Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year! We are thrilled that your child will be a part of the STEM program at GMS. We have been working hard to ensure that everything is ready when students arrive. Until then, we wanted to make you aware of some important dates and information. Be see below for information about device deployment, Pony camp, and supplies. We look forward to seeing everyone soon.
We are very excited that our program will allow students to bring their own device. (BYOD) To review a list of acceptable devices please see the districts Technology Department Recommendations. Parents of students that need to check out a district owned computer device will need to attend our device deployment session immediately following Parent Pony Camp on August, 22nd from 6:30-7:30. We will start as soon as GMS completes their portion of the evening and hope to be finished by 8:30. In order to make check out as quick as possible, please complete the following forms for Students and Parents Each family will also need to have the $35 insurance fee (cash/check) prepared. ($25 free/reduced)

All 6th grade students should plan to attend Pony Camp. They will receive valuable information about life as a middle schooler. STEM students will take part in two STEM specific sessions. For one of the sessions, students WILL need their digital device. Please have students bring it in a backpack, charged and ready to use. At the end of this time, students will receive their schedules and locker information.

Supply Update and Lockers
STEM Students will be allowed to carry a backpack throughout the day. This backpack is intended to protect their digital device and needs to be a reasonable size. Please keep in mind that lockers and classrooms are small. Backpacks with interior frames, wheels and those that are extremely large will not be allowed. Additionally, each student will need earbuds or headphones to use with their device. Lockers WILL be assigned to students in the STEM program. Students will be responsible for the security of their locker combination and their backpack throughout the day.
